Meet Donna Hoffmeyer

Welcome to REBel LLC! I'm Donna, wife, mom, nurse, veteran, author, blogger, podcaster, and founder of R.E.B.el LLC.

I retired 1 Oct 2020 after 21 years of service in the Air Force. My last assignment was taking care of Guard and Reserve wounded, ill, and injured, initially as a clinical case manager and ending in working policy.

During those years, I saw firsthand the struggle the service members were having with consistent medical care, administrative chaos, and transition. Through a very odd turn of events, I was given the opportunity to co-author a military transition book. Warrior to Patriot Citizen was published in 2017.

When I retired in 2020, I was completely burned out. I took 6 months off from life to regroup. I kept myself busy working with our daughter, putting together another book, Pandemic Parodies. It is a humorous take on our family navigating the beginning of the pandemic.

Over the next year, I found focus. In April 2021, Taking Off The Armor started, It is a weekly blog that is veteran-focused, but not veteran exclusive.

In October 2021, I launched R.E.B.el LLC and the DBA The Transitioning Warrior, which focused on educating and mentoring veterans lost in their transition.

Two months later, I was offered my own podcast. I was fortunate my friend Jay is as adventurous as I am, and with him, as my co-host, Beyond the Frontline became part of the Coming Home Well family of podcasts. It is dedicated to providing resources to veterans and their families.

After self-publishing two books, I realized the piece that was missing was education. As fate would have it, a few other people that entered my life, came to the same realization. The final piece, Publishing Pathfinders, is currently in development. Its goal is to guide new authors through the process of self-publishing.

R.E.B.el LLC is the company I started that houses both The Transitioning Warrior and Publishing Pathfinders.  In 2019, I lost a co-worker, good friend, and mentor to a head-on collision. The R.E.B. in the name stands for Richard Ellis Bennett...or as many knew him, Rick. He was one of the biggest veterans advocates I had ever met. He strengthened my belief in doing the right thing for the right reasons...even when no one else understood or even agreed. R.E.B.el LLC is built on the foundation of this premise.

I am blessed to have the love and support of my family and close friends. I am now on a path that feels right. It is all coming together. If I can educate/empower/equip half as well as Rick, I will consider myself, and this business, a success.

I look forward to meeting you...maybe as someone to collaborate with, brainstorm with, mentor, coach, consult...or just have a cup of coffee with. No matter which way, it will be great to connect with you.
