Gratitude and Grace — A Military Veteran’s Perspective on Thankfulness
I’m really not sure where the first 19 days of November went, but here we are, the week before Thanksgiving. Well, it will be the week of Thanksgiving when this is published. No matter, the month has slipped past me, much like October.
However, it is clear when November has arrived. It’s Gratitude Month! The daily gratitude posts begin to show on social media. It is also Military Family Month. Good chance you know one or two. Make sure you give them a shout out…what they handle on a day to day basis would make a civilian’s head spin. With all the gratitude, I think we should rename November to “Tell me it is November, without telling me it is November.”
I practice gratitude to the best of my ability every day. However, I want to add a little more. Call it love and light, prayers, positive vibes, good mojo…whatever term works for you, and direct it towards those struggles others may be dealing with, that you may, or may not, have the privilege to see. Yes, it is a privilege for someone to let you into the messy, most vulnerable corners of their life.
