I Pray We Never Get the Call — Perspectives Of A Veteran, Mom, and Spouse

I’m sitting in a coffee shop writing this, and Pink’s Walk Me Home is playing on my Spotify. So appropriate for my blog this week.

Current world events have sent an emotional charge through our military and veteran communities. We are all on edge holding our breath; waiting, wondering, and worrying. It is a terrible feeling.

There are families of special forces that have been missing their service member for months, and worried because of the nature of their job. However, until this point, they most likely had very little awareness of the level of danger they have encountered or are encountering.

There are families that have watched their loved one scramble to get their deployment gear together, well in advance of any notification to deploy. They don’t need to be told, they know to be ready. (Continue reading here...)
