Kelly Daniel here! I love helping other people communicate stories in any fiction genre, although I particularly love crime, thrillers, fantasy, romance . . . actually, scratch that, I love them all. Whether it’s flash fiction, short stories, novellas, or novels, there’s nothing more satisfying than helping a potential author become a published author.
If you’d like to know a bit about my background then hold onto your hat: I attended Royal Holloway University (it looks like Hogwarts, look it up) where I read English and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I worked in a few administrative roles in London before moving back home to Freshwater Bay on the beautiful Isle of Wight. I returned to study for my Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at Portsmouth University and became an English teacher for 19 years. I taught English in secondary schools (ages 11-18), but in my later teaching career, I mainly taught A Level English Literature and A Level English Language courses (ages 16-18).
During that time, I continued to write fiction for myself (self-published) and Pantomimes for my local amateur dramatic group (Pantos are a UK thing–they’re hilarious but weird). I also wrote non-fiction on behalf of others as a secondary career. Now I’m a full-time writer and editor, and I am a member of the CIEP, the UK’s national editorial association.
Free time is a bit sparse, but if it’s summer you’ll find me swimming in the sea or walking on my local downland. If it’s winter, I’ll be walking to the Pub.
I live with my two best friends: my partner, Tony, and our little dog Gypsy. We love where we live and we couldn’t be happier.
Phew! I know. That was a lot. We can all take a breather for a few minutes now.
I am looking forward to working with you. Cheers!
